Xiangshan District

Located of the east part of Xiangshan Peninsula and 608 coastal islands. It covers an area of 1,175 sq. km with the 800km coastline. It has a population of 530,000.

Xiangshan is rich in resources. It is the leading area for producing aquatics, fruits and livestock. It has witnessed the fast growth of its export-oriented economy with the main industries including knitting and textile, food processing, distribution transformer, electronics, machinery etc. In 2001, its GDP hit 8.3 billion yuan, the revenue reached 601 million yuan. The average income of each farmer hit 5,230 yuan. Xiangshan enjoys a good location. Especially Shipu, named as "the hometown on fishing", is famous in nation. It is one of four biggest fishing port in nation and it is listed as a national second-class port opening to the outside world in 1993. The yearly output of aquatic in county reached about 0.5 million tons. In addition, it has got the name as "the hometown of construction", with 47 construction companies, among which 5 are top first-class ones who got many prizes like "luban" and "white magnolia" for building some tall buildings.

Such facilities as transportation, energy and telecommunication are complete and its investment environment had been improving. At the end of 2001, 120 foreign-funded enterprises have been set up with the contractual foreign investment of US$ 70 million. In 2001, its self-managed export reached US$2030 million.

With the special geography, the resources of natural (hill and sea) are rich. The provincial-level beach tourist holiday zone-Songlanshan and Huangchen sandy beach are the natural the vacation scenic spots. Mending Peak (the sun rise watch), Lingyan cliff (a waterfall spot), Shipu fishing boat quay and so on are all natural attractions for tourists.

Key Investment Zones

Xiangshan Industry Park is located in the southwest of the county towen-Dancheng Town & will cover an area of 5 square kilometers. It is the key project and component of the county town. It will have 30 km of good roads, full capacity of phones 8,000 sets, daily water supply 50,000 tons, total electric capacity 45,000 KVA, green land of 60 hectares, and it will have basic infrastructure & utility completed as follows:

Some preferential policies for investment are as follows:
1. The basic fee for land using rights transfer is 100,000 yuan per mu (after power supply, water supply, roads & communications being finished). At least 10 mu for sale! The fee will be charged 95% of the total if beyond 50 mu. If beyond 100 mu, charge 90% of the total.
2. Within 3 years when the enterprise starts management, free charge of local taxes, and value-added tax remained to the local will be returned fully to the enterprise.
3. Free charge of land using rights transfer fee for encouraging any investor to invest high-'n'-new-tech industrial enterprise.
4. Free & good service provided by the Park Office for necessary formalities of enterprises in the Park.

Xiangshan Shipu Aquatic Industry Park is planned to develop 400 mu land during first phase by the end of 2001. The infrastructure & utility such as electric power supply, water supply, roads & communications etc will be finished by then.

Xiangshan Juexi Giant Eagle Knitting Park occupies over 500 mu land and is a comprehensive & multi-functional knitting center which concentrates design, weaving, printing, embroidery, dyeing, garment-making, quality-checking & packing. It is planned to build 46 standard factory workshops with each area 3,640m2, totally 167,440m2, to build a modern living block for board & lodging, shopping, bathing & club etc. and some other large basic facilities such as park & plaza etc.

Xiangshan Xiangxi Industry Zone is only 80 km away from Ningbo. The convenient expressway goes through this zone. It is one of the first National Village & township Enterprises and Technical Parks approved by the Agriculture Ministry in 2000. The zone is to cover 1,600 mu of land with basic infrastructure & utility completed.

Ningbo Songlanshan Seashore Resort is located at southeast of the county town. 6 beaches along 3km of the coast appear among the green mountains & blue waves. No one can resist the natural beauty, glamorous blue waves & broad beaches. It will occupy 25 sq. km. There are 6 items for investment such as bathing beach, island paradise, holiday village, hunting in islands, sea & beach sports, hotels & sports facilities.
