The main region is located in the northwestern part of Hangzhou's urban district, adjacent to the West Lake. This is an area of culture, education and a base for the electronics industry.

The Xiasha Sci-Tech Industrial Park lies on the northern bank of the Qiantang River's lower reaches, close to the Hangzhou Economic Development Zone.

Zhijiang Sci-Tech Industrial Park lies on the southern bank of the Qiantang River, near to scenic and historical sites such as the Liuhe Pagoda. This region is ideal for developing the hi-tech industry, being located only 5 kilometers from Hangzhou's city center.
