Petrochemical industry is one of the leading industries in Zhejiang. It made
69.13 billion RMB in total output value, 67.9 billion in sales income, 65.7
billion in profit and tax and 31.3 billion in total profit in 2000, ranking
among the first in terms of economic indicators.
Zhejiang is known for its fine chemical industry, leading
China in the development and production of pesticides, dyestuff, fluorine
chemicals, papermaking chemicals, biochemical preparations, from substitutes and
information chemicals. Zhenhai Lianhua Co., Ltd. has a capacity of
comprehensively processing 12 million ton crude oil annually. Juhua Group has
set up the largest fluorine chemical base in China, which provides fluorine raw
materials, fluorine refrigerant and fluorine composite materials. There have set
up two national-level fine chemicals bases in Huzhou and Taizhou, and two
industrial parks, namely, Hangzhou Economic & Technological Development Zone
Hi-tech Industrial Park and Shangyu Harbor Fine Chemical Industrial Park.
Focus for development:
1. Organic fluorine chemicals: Fluorine plastics, fluorine rubbers, ODS
substitutes, fluorine intermediate agents and fluorine fine chemicals.
2. Highly-efficient low-toxic safe insecticides,
bactericides and weedicides; trace amount trap-and-kill pesticides and new
preparations.
3. Organic silicon product series: silicon oil, silicone
rubber and silicone fine chemicals
4. New-type engineering plastics,
plastic alloy, functional high polymer materials, high polymer materials that
are modified using nanometer materials and special rubber products.
5.
New-type biochemical products, information products and special
chemicals.
Technologies for waste treatment and comprehensive utilization
of resources and energy saving technologies in chemical
industry.
