Brief Introduction

　Pinghu Economic Development Zone (following the abbreviated as “PEDZ”) was established by Pinghu municipal government in 1996 and was approved by Zhejiang provincial government as a provincial-level economic development zone in 2000. It is the only one industrial zone for Japanese investors that is approved by Zhejiang provincial government in Zhejiang province. The PEDZ is Zhejiang provincial top 10 ranks in the year of  2001,2002,2003,2004,2005. The first phase planning is 7.9 square kilometers where many enterprises have set down. The second phase covering the 10.6 square kilometers is under construction and the 7.9 square kilometers belonging to  the third phase has begun dealing with the relevant work.

　　There are more than 600enterprises in industrial park, including about 200 foreign-capital enterprises. The total sum of contractual foreign fund up to 1400million so that PEDZ has been ranked top 10 provincial industrial parks of Zhejiang province in the year of 2001,2002,2003,2004,2005. The main industry centers on the telegram, precision machine, motor and other industries. Now the optical- machinery-electronic  industry and the making-garment-making, packing and selling are the two characters of the PEDZ. Most of the investors come from Japan, Taiwan, Hongkong, America,Germany, spain, India and other countries. There are more than 40 Japanese companies and over 30 Taiwan’s companies including NTN, NIDE(Zhejiang) Corporation NIDEC COPAL ELECTRONICS（ZHEJIANG）CO.,LTD, ARTEX TEXTILE (ZHEJIANG) CO., LTD, CHINA HANQUAN Hi-Tech Textile (pinghu) Limited have invested here.Recently ,more and more European enterprises have set down inPEDZ.

Pinghu is in the north east of Zhejiang province, adjacent to Shanghai and in the mid-part of mainland coastline in the Yangtze River Delta, the most dynamic economic region of China. Pinghu is reputed as the “home of silk, land of fish and rice”, enjoying the fame of “Golden Pinghu”. The land area and sea area of the Pinghu city are 537 square kilometers and 1086 square kilometes respectively. Pinghu with advanced education system has 133 primary school, 18 middle schools and 5 senior schools. About 500 students are be enrolled by different colleges per year.  In addition, there are abundant in human resources including 3,000senior students and 600 graduates from the two vocational schools. Pinghu Institute of Technology has enrolled in this November 2004 and the main careers in Japanese, foreign trade and optical- machinery manufacture. 　　Besides, within 100 kilometers, there are 88 vocational schools, not including Shanghai’s area. At present, Pinghu municipal government has established needs and meets cooperation ships with univercities and colleages that are in Hangzhou, Nibo, Wuhan and other ten big & mid cities.

Hospital
