In 2005, our province continued to evaluate and grade the tourist areas
(spots), to guide the construction of the tourist areas (spots) in our province
according to the national standard, to standardize the administration of tourist
areas (spots), to improve the service quality and administrative level, and to
upgrade the taste and grade of the tourist areas (spots). By the end of the
year, there were altogether 151 tourist areas (spots) at different levels. Among
them, 54 were 4A tourist areas (spots), with an increase of 16. It accounted for
8% of all the 4A tourist areas (spots) in China (with a total of 671). The total
of 4A tourist areas (spots) in Zhejiang was second only to that of Jiangsu,
ranking the second in China. There were 24 3A tourist areas (spots) in Zhejiang,
with an increase of one; 2A tourist areas (spots) 68, with an increase of 9; 1A
tourist areas (spots) 5.
In 2005, the 151 tourist areas (spots) in our province received a total of
56.99 million tourists, with an increase of 16.1%. The admission revenue reached
1.35209 billion, with an increase of 11.1%. Eight tourist areas (spots) received
more than 2 million tourists annually; another eight tourist areas (spots)
received 1-2 million tourists annually; and 26 tourist areas (spots) received
0.5-1 million tourists annually.
