Shao Xing Library, also known as the Lu Xun Library, was built in 1902 and named Gu Yue Bibliotheca. Rebuilt in 1958,the library was named as Lu Xun Library by Guo Mo Ruo. In 2000,a 1300-square-meter new building was constructed and opened to the public, meanwhile the name has changed for Shao Xing Library. Now it stores nearly 500,000 volumes of books.
