The award ceremony of the 12th Venice Architecture Biennale was held in Venice on the morning of August 29th, Beijing time. Wang Shu, Professor and Head of the Architecture Department at the China Academy of Art won the ˇ°Special Mentionsˇ± Award with his project named Decay of Dome, and became the first Chinese architect to win an award at this biggest international architecture exhibition in his own name.

Venice Architecture Biennale is the most significant exhibition in the world architecture field. This is the second time that China has won an award at this exhibition, following the ˇ°Architecture and Art Awardˇ± for the ˇ°Commune Under China's Great Wallˇ± project 8 years ago.
