With setting things to right after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh CPC Central Committee, the movie industry obtained a chance of rebirth. In 1978, Zhejiang Film School was established and the Zhejiang Movie Equipment Factory was enlarged. One year later, Zhejiang Film Studio recovered from the impacts and began to produce a lot of feature films, documentaries and science & education films. Since 1979, Zhejiang Culture Bureau and Zhejiang Art Association have held a screen play exchange meeting every year. After the foundation of China Filmdom Committee Zhejiang Branch, its main role has been the encouragement and supervision of the movie scripts.
Under these measures, the Zhejiang filmdom has made great progress in script writing and presented many movie scripts which reflected the social reality and revolutionary history. These screen plays were made into movies by the movie studios all over the country, such as the movies about the life styles of modern youth, like Youth, Romance of the Sea, Love and Heritage, Pizzazz Everywhere, Silk Story in a Riverside Town, The Xizi Girl, Bird and Flower, Feast in Heaven; the social conflicts, like Bitter Fruit, Invisible Net, Why Giving Birth to Me, Who Is the Third Party, Guanyin Is Twelve-year-old This Year, The Replevied Love, The Smart Detective; the life of the She minority in Zhejiang, like Tea Song in Pie Mountain; the children's life, like Fox Hunting the Hunter, Four Little Friends, Sonata of a Little Urchin, Luminous Pearl, and The Action of the Special Mixed Armada; the revolutionary history, like The University in Exile, Scholar in Army, The Creation of the New World. The commercial and entertaining movies became very popular then, like R4 Mystery, The Robbery of Gold Coins, The Mystery of the Heaven Dynasty's Fisk, Special Women Detachment, The Mysteriously Disappeared Boat. And in1990s, more and more commercial films were presented, like Street Knight, Winds and Rains on Old House, Iron-willed Heroes, The Yearning Gooses in the Winds and Rains, The Information Battle On an Isolated Island, Far-east Spy War, The Secretly Screened Tape, Blood Memorial Ceremony, Secret Days Again, Black Bolt, The Lost Hero, Firebolt Policewomen, Outrageous Boxer, Bodyguard Hasier, Urban Tussle, The First Kiss, The Crazy Boy and the Loving Girl, Brothers in Luohe Town, Nu'erhong Wine and Color Belts Wield in the Sky.

Moreover, a lot of classic operas performed by Zhejiang professional opera troups were adapted to movies during the period, such as the Kun Opera The Tale of the West Garden, the Yue Opera Tears of the Wedding Candles, Legend of the Embroidery Girl, Five Daughters Offering Birthday Felicitations and Tears of Tung Flower, the Wu Operas Xishi's Tears and The Queen's Miscarriage of Justice on the Pear-flower Case.
In addition, the production of Zhejiang movie industry made further progress in those years. Since the reconstruction of Zhejiang Film Studio, it has presented movies like Rouge, Sparkle of Mind, Pizzazz Everywhere, Luminous Pearl, Ms. Shexiang, Gun Shot on the Isolated Island, The Road towards the Sky, A Thousand Li Scary Journey, Accident in the Honeymoon, The Director of the Feedback Office, Zhou Enlai the Great Friend, Carry the Wedding Sedan Chair, Tears of the Wedding Candles, Tang Bohu, the documentary Zhou Enlai and Zhejiang, Public Memorial Ceremony of Dayu Tomb and The Master of Landscape Paintings Lu Yanshao; and such cooperative movies like Smart Woman Detective and False Daughter with True Love (with Shanghai Film Studio), Soul of the Nation (with Fujian Film Studio), The Father's and the Son's Weddings (with South Sea Co.), Fazed Husband and Beautiful Wife (with Xi'an Film Studio), Search a Wife by Computer (with Yunnan Film Studio), Girls Valley (with Xie Jin Hengtong Co.), Pioneers of the Anti-Drug Action (with Hong Kong Xindabao Co.), The Way of an Emperor (with Suncity Co.), etc.

Many of the films created or produced in Zhejiang won awards at home or abroad. Why Giving Birth to Me was presented with the second award for the best feature films by the Ministry of Culture in 1984; Five Daughters Offering Birthday Felicitations was presented with the Award for the Best Opera Film by the Ministry of Culture and the Fifth Golden Rooster Award for Opera Films in 1984; Four Little Friends won the honored award at the 12th Italian Tiffini International Children's Film Festival, Republic President's Silver Medal and the honored award at the16th Iran International Educational Film Festival; The Invisible Net won the commentators award at the 12th Portugal International Film Festival; Sonata of a Little Urchin won the Award for the Best Children's Film at China Calf Film Festival and the actor Yao Yun won the special award; The Remote City won the Award for the Best Director at the Fifth Golden Rooster Film Festival and the honored award of the Montreal World Film Festival in Canada. Wu Dan, the actress of the movie The Wanderer and the Goose, won the Award for the Best Actress at the 9th Tashkent International Film Festival; The cartoon movie Love to Mountains and Rivers won the grand award of Shanghai International Cartoon Film Festival; False Daughter with True Love was presented with the Award for Best Feature Film by the State Department of Broadcasting, Motion Picture and Television in 1989-1990, and the actress Xi Meijuan won the Award for the Best Actress at the 11th Golden Rooster Film Festival; The Creation of the New World was presented with the 1991 Award for the Best Film by the State Department of Broadcasting, Motion Picture and Television, the "Five Ones Project Award" by the Central Promotion Department and the Special Award at the 12th Golden Rooster Film Festival, and the screenwriters Huang Yazhou and Wang Tianyun won the Award for the Best Screenwriter; The Action of the Special Mixed Armada won the bronze award at the 2nd Cairo International Film Festival; Street Knight won the public award at Marseille Film Festival in France; The Brothers in Luohe Town won the International Youth Center Award and Lucas Award at the 20th German Frankfurt International Children's Film Festival, the bronze award at the 5th Cairo International Movie Festival and the UN Children's Manifesto Award at the 12th Chicago International Children's Film Festival. The actress of the movie Nu'erhong Wine won the best actress award at Czech International Film Festival. The Director of The Feedback Department won the Chinese Ornamental Column Award in 1995, Zheng Yi and Shen Yiwei won the best screenwriter award; Zhou Enlai the Great Friend won the "Five Ones Project Award", etc. These award-winning films have extended the influence of Zhejiang film creation both nationally and internationally and earned Zhejiang Province a considerable reputation.

The activities related to movies became more and more rich and colorful. In 1981, the First Golden Rooster Film Festival and the Fourth Hundred Flowers Film Festival were held in Hangzhou. The major leaders of the industry and the celebrities of the circle gathered in Hangzhou from all over the country. Zhejiang Film Studio produced a documentary namely The Golden Rooster Crows and A Hundred Flowers Blossom to record the big event and lately publicized the film in the country. Such excellent movies like Qiu Jin, Under the Bridge and Anadems at the Foot of the High Mountain held their premieres in Zhejiang. Moreover, a lot of actors, actresses, directors and screenwriters have collected their afflatuses here.

The international exchanges of the industry became frequent. The Zhejiang movies like operas Fifteen Guan, The Monkey King Fight the Skeleton Monster, Rouge, Five Daughters Offering Birthday Felicitations, the feature Sparkle of Mind, the documentary Tiantai Guoqing Temple, Famous Dishes of Hangzhou and the science fiction film Golden-headed Centipede have been publicized in Canada, US, North Korea, Japan, Italy and Singapore, etc. More and more persons of the circle visited the foreign countries and made exchanges with their counterparts; and more and more foreign experts and movie stars came to Zhejiang, made cultural exchanges and even cooperated with China in movies.
The developing industry has brought us the famous screenwriters like Gu Xidong, Li YunLiang, Yao Yun, Huang Yazhou, Hu Yuewei, Fangzi, Tong Tingmiao, Qi Tianfa, Zhang Sicong, Gu Songen, Zheng Yi, Chai Hongbin, Xu Haibin and such bright stars like Chen Zurong, Wang Ruoli, Wu Dan, Xue Shujie, He Saifei, Tao Huimin, He Qing, Ru Ping, Zhou Xun, Hu Bin, Kong Lin and Yuanli. Nowadays, Zhejiang movie industry holds a very important position in the whole Chinese movie industry.
